先日お伝えしたタイガー・ウッズのビュイック・オープンでの「おなら」事件。ネット上のいろんなところで話題になっている中、中継をしていたCBSやPGAツアーはその映像をYouTubeから「権利違反」として取り下げるなど波紋を呼んでいます。
そして、ここにきて、新たな「説」が浮上し、これがまた話題になっているようです。

事件が起きたのはビュイック・オープン最終日、最終ホールの第2打地点。
動画を見ていただくと分かりますが、オナラの爆音が少しでか過ぎる、不自然なのではないか、という見方が浮上。
「あれは観客による悪戯だったのでは」と主張しだしたのが米コロラド州の「InfoMedia（インフォメディア）」社。彼らは映像を繰り返しリプレーし、一つの結論にたどり着いたのです。
「あのオナラはiFartのアプリケーションにある音の一つだ」と。
iFart（Fart＝オナラ）とは、昨夏、全米で大ヒットしたアップル社のiPhone、iPod Touch用のアプリケーションでオナラの音を再生できる「いたずら」ツール。自分のオナラの音を録音することもでき、その遊び心が話題を呼んで、大手メディアやIT系のサイトでも取り上げられた結果、3週間に渡ってアメリカで最もダウンロードされたiPhoneアプリになったのです。iFartを開発したのが（言うまでもなく）インフォメディア社ということなのですww

それぞれのオナラにはネーミングがついていて（笑）、インフォメディア社によると、今回のタイガーのオナラはこのアプリの「Doom（破壊）」という音に近いそうで、ロープ脇にいたギャラリーの誰かがフェアウェイで待機していたタイガーとスティーブに向かって仕掛けたのでは、と主張しているのです。インフォメディア社は全社をあげて調査を始めるとのことで、その場にいたスティーブ・ウィリアムズやロープ脇にいたギャラリーに話を聞くとリリースを発表したのですww
