なぜこんなオークションをやっているのか？マッキロイのホームコース「ハリウッド・ゴルフ・クラブ」でグリーンキーパーを務める男性の息子（3歳）が「てんかん症候群」で、多い日には一日20回も発作を起こしてしまうそうなのです。このオークションの売上金はその子の治療費に寄付するとのことです。
果たしてどれくらいの金額なのか？6月末に公開されたのですが、入札回数は4回、
現在の価格は14,500ドル、日本円で約136万円！
んー、微妙に高いのか安いのか分からない！？
入札期限は現地時間16日午後1時までだそうです。
昔、フジテレビでやっていた「ハンマープライス（でしたよね？）」という番組を思い出しました。アール湖ゴルフ・リゾートのサイトを見てざっくり計算してみたのですが（かなりどんぶり勘定です）・・・
■アール湖ゴルフ・リゾートで1泊宿泊費：（一番高い部屋・飯付き）1,125ポンド⇒約17万円
■「ザ・ファルド・コース」ラウンドフィー（3名分）：240ポンド⇒約36,000円
■エギジビションマッチ「アーン湖チャレンジ」の招待券：10,000円×3枚＝30,000円
■タイトリスト グッズ一式：100,000円相当
これを全部足すと、約336,000円になります。現在の入札価格が136万円なので入札している人は「マッキロイとのラウンド」にかなり付加価値を感じているのかな、と。
でも、こういうのはお金の問題じゃないですよね。マネジメント会社とか代理人が主導でやっているものではなさそうですし、きっと本人が自分のステータスを使って恩返しをしたい気持ちなんだと思います。
その気持ちはきっとプライスレスですよね（いや、そんなベタなオチを言いたかったわけではありませんw）。
それにしても、20歳で大したもんですよね。こういう志は日本のプロもマネして欲しいなー。
