今年の全英オープンで3位タイに入ったノーマン。3位（または3位タイ）には来年のマスターズ出場権が与えられる。

そして、全英オープン終了後、夢の舞台への出場権を獲得できたことを聞かれたノーマンは一言。
「ちょっと待て・・・勘弁してくれ」
来年の春先のことまで考えたくないようだ。

ノーマンの反応とは裏腹に、キャディのストリックラーは冗舌だった。
「マスターズに出られるのか！？残念賞まで貰えたな」
キャディは行く気満々である。
■奥様もコートに復活！？
クリス・エバートは女子テニス界で一世を風靡したプレーヤーだった。マルティーナ・ナブラチロワ、ステッフィー・グラフらと名勝負を演じ、世界トップの座にも君臨していた。

最終ラウンド後、ロッカールームのそばで記者陣に囲まれていたノーマン。疲れきった旦那に「ビール飲む？」と気を使いエバートが寄り添ってきた。

「いいや、いらないよ」と言い、記者たちの目を気にすることなくエバートにハグとキスをした。

Finally the repairman couldn’t contain himself any longer and yelled, “Shut up, you stupid ugly bird!” To which the parrot replied, “Get him, Spike!”
