世の中にはすごいゴルファーがいるものだ。このブログのタイトルに最も相応しいニュースが飛び込んできた。
米フロリダ州に住むデル・デ・ウィンドさん（８７）が自身１４度目のホールインワンを達成。それだけでも凄い記録だが、更にこのウィンドさんは目が不自由で数メートル先も見えないという。

今回のホールインワンはフロリダ州「ジュピターアイランドクラブ」の9番ホール、149ヤードだった。ちなみに、目が見えなくなってから約10年経つが、今回が3度目のホールインワンだという。
ただただ脱帽ですね。10年で3回ニアピンを取れれば嬉しいくらいですwww。ウィンドさんのキャディバッグを覗いてみたいのは僕だけだろうか...。
もう少しこのウィンドさんを紹介しておくと、若くからゴルフに染まり、50年近くハンディ0～3のアマチュアゴルファーだったという。ゴルフ界でも知る人ぞ知る存在だ。会社員として勤め、Eaton Corporationという地元企業のCEOを勤めた後は、米国PGAツアーの役員としても招聘された。
1980年から3年間、PGAツアーの政策決定機関（Policy Board）の一員として従事し、その当時は定着していなかった選手の保険や引退後の年金制度を確立。また今では全米中にある「Tournament Players Club（TPC）」のゴルフ場開拓に取り組んだそうだ。
こういう偉大な方でこそ成し遂げられる神業なのかもしれない。
是非、近い将来、ゴルフ殿堂入りしてもらいたいものだ。
