最近、Twitterに恐ろしい勢いではまっていて、見知らぬ人から声を掛けられ声を掛け・・・。Twitterの大きな特徴としては、一見他人のぼやきの連続に見えるのですが、実はRSSでもありチャットでもありブログでもあり（故にかなりのポテンシャルを持つ広告メディアである）、何とも驚異的な媒体なのです。
先日、そのチャット機能を使って、ジョン・デイリーにメッセージを送ってみたのです。極めて軽いノリで「いつ日本に来るの～」と。したら、なんとなんと翌日、返信があったのです！！！

もう10年くらい前になるのかな・・・。たしか98年あたりにダンロップ・フェニックス・トーナメント出場のために来日していたと思ったのですが、日本に来て欲しいという願いも込めてメッセージを送りました。
するとこんな返事が。
「ひょっとしたら年末に香港行くかも」
日本じゃないし！答えになってないよーw
恐らく11月に開催される「UBS香港オープン」（11月12～15日）かその前週の「HSBCチャンピオンズ（今年からWGCイベント）」（11月5～8日）のことを言っていると思うのですが、11月19日からダンロップフェニックス・トーナメントなんですよね～・・・。
ちょうどダンロップフェニックス・トーナメントと同じその週に欧州ツアー最高峰を決める「ドバイ・ワールド・チャンピオンシップ」がドバイで開催されるみたいですね。もし、ポイントランキングで出場できなかったら香港からピュっと飛行機乗って、サクッとプレーしに来て欲しいなぁ～。
それにしても、ドバイ・ワールド・チャンピオンシップと同じ週にダンロップフェニックス開催ってことは欧州ツアーの主力どころは絶対に来れないってことですよね。イアン・ポールターとかセルヒオ・ガルシアとか・・・。海外からの選手を集めて世界トップレベルのゴルフを日本のファンにも見せることが大義名分のダンロップフェニックス。こんなスケジュールを組んでいて大丈夫なのでしょうか。いや、大丈夫ではないですね。恐らくPGAツアーの一線級のちょっと下の選手たちかドバイに出場できなかった選手たちが来ることになるんでしょうね。
