このホール、1930年代にプレーしていた人たちが命名した「Five and Dime（10セント）」というニックネームが今でも使われている。その由来は、パー4でありながら291ヤードしかないのだが（ピンの位置によっては280ヤードくらい）、フェアウェイがドッグレッグしていて、且つグリーン手前から急に上っているため、攻略法としてはティショットを5番アイアンで210〜220ヤード打ち、2打目を10番（今ではウェッジ）で乗せていくとされていたからだ。ジャック・ニクラウスがこのホールを初めて訪れた際には「なぜFive and Dimeと呼ばれているかよく分かったよ。それは、スコアが『5』か『10』にしかならないからだ」とその難易度を評したと言われている。
このホールを難しくしているのは、グリーンの小ささだ。上の写真を見ても分かる通り、このグリーンは幅がわずか6ヤード（5.5メートル）、縦が26ヤード（23メートル）しかない。大の大人がグリーン上を歩いていると、本当に数歩で横断できてしまう。グリーンは砲台になっているため、第2打目の地点からではグリーン表面が見えなくなっていて、選手は観客の歓声で自分がナイスショットをしたのかを判断している。今大会、このホールを通過する全選手のプレーをネットでライブ映像配信しているので、良かったらこちらからご覧ください。
