いよいよ始まった「全米オープン」。今週の天気予報はずっと雨、雨、雨。前日から降っていたそうなのですが、この日も終始止むことはなく現地時間の10:14にプレーが中断し、約半分の選手がスタートできていない状況で初日が終わりました。

スタートしている選手の中でアンダーパーはわずか4名。ジェフ・ブレハート、ヨハン・エドフォース、ライアン・スピアーズ、アンドリュー・パーが1アンダーで並んでいます。
「ダブル連覇」（昨年の全米オープン覇者であり、前回のベスページでの優勝者でもある）がかかる注目のタイガー・ウッズは６番を終えて1オーバー。日本人選手で唯一スタートしていた今田竜二も同じく1オーバー（9番終了時）で並んでいます。
明日の金曜日は降水確率40％でプレーは可能だとのこと。ただ、土曜日も初日同様に70％以上の確率で降るそうです。
今年は最初から最後まで「自然」との闘いになりそうですね・・・。
