本来であれば最終ラウンドがスタートしている時間ですが、現地時間21日の早朝に正午までプレーが不可であることが発表されました。正午の段階でプレー再開可能か判断されるとのことで、天気予報では日曜の午後と月曜の午前はプレー続行は可能のようです。
タイガー・ウッズ、フィル・ミケルソンらは既にスタートしているが、まだ第３ラウンドを開始していない選手が多くこの日に決着をつけるのは難しく、72ホールで行われた全米オープンでは２６年ぶりのマンデーフィニッシュになることが確定しています。

どうやら日曜午後、そして月曜日は午後に雨の予報ですが午前中は晴れマークが出ていますね。大会運営側はマンデーフィニッシュに備えてチケットの販売も始めています。
先日、サスペンデッドになった木曜日のチケットを持っていたギャラリーのチケットは月曜、または火曜日に振替えるべきだと書きましたが、ebayに出品されているチケット情報によると「木曜日のチケットを持っている人は月曜有効」と書いています。マンデーが確定して方針を変えたのでしょうか・・・。
選手も忍耐勝負になってきそうですね・・・。少しコースに出て、また中断、そしてまた再開、この連続になりそうな残り2日。
選手も大変だけど、夜通しでグリーンとフェアウェイの状態を監視しているグランドキーパーたち、そして雨の中お手伝いしているボランティアの人たちも同じ辛い思いをしていますよね。全てはこの大会を成功させるため。
