さてさて、今週はメジャー第2戦「全米オープン」。マスターズ同様、気合いを入れて更新していこうかと、今から鼻息を荒くしております。
メジャーの週は何かとコース外の話題が多いですよね。つい先ほど飛び込んできたのですが、昨年のマスターズ覇者トレバー・イメルマンが全米を欠場するようです。

欠場の理由は左手首と左肘の腱炎（けんえん）だとか。今年は11試合に出場し、予選突破が8回、トランジションズ選手権での19位タイが最高成績だった。欠場する期間などは明らかになっていない。
イメルマンは一昨年の12月には横隔膜にできた良性腫瘍の摘出手術を受け、数ヶ月後にマスターズを優勝し「時の人」となった。イメルマンはダドリー・ハート、ロバート・カールソンに次いでこの大会3人目の欠場者となる。
マスターズ優勝以来、すっかりナイキの広告塔になっていたイメルマン。CMの撮影で本業以外のところで余計な神経を使ってしまったのでしょうか・・・。
早期復帰を願うばかり。
