申智愛は最後まで崩れることなく18アンダーでホールアウト。終わってみれば、周りがスコアを崩す中で一人だけノーボギーで圧勝だった。2位には3打差15アンダーで台湾のヤニ・ツェン、3位には不動とジ・ウンヒ（韓国）が入った。宮里は最終ホールをダブルボギーとして13アンダー、単独5位まで落ちてしまった。
申智愛の強さは致命的なミスが一度もなかったことだったのだろう。でも、技術的に彼女が持っていて不動、宮里が持っていないものはあったのだろうか？と考えてしまう。申智愛は確かに体の回転が早く、ショットのぶれは少なかったけど、不動も宮里もショットの左右は少なかった。
ってことは、申智愛との差はメンタルの安定感なのだろうか・・・。だとすれば、韓国の選手が行っているメンタルトレーニングを学ぶべきなのではないだろうか。韓国人選手についているメンタルトレーナーがいるのかな・・・。とても気になる。「強い気持ちも前面に出せて、リズムを感じながら心地よくプレーできたので楽しかった」と宮里は振り返った。でもそれでは足りないということなんだろう。
でも藍ちゃんはこれで完全に復活した感じがした。「今日は本当にいい集中力を保てていて、すごく手応えを感じた一日でした。。。この悔しい思いをバネにして頑張りたいと思います」。今年どこかで優勝杯を手にする日もあるのではないかな・・・。藍ちゃんには是非、アメリカで勝ってほしい。
それにしても、戸張捷が救いようのないほどつまらない。
「先日、藍ちゃんから『アイ』と書いてあるお酒をもらえたんですけど、家族とは藍ちゃんが優勝をしたらその時開けてお祝いをしようと言っていたのですが、おあずけとなってしまいましたね」
