全米プロ選手権の公式サイトでは初日からネット生中継をするようです。残念ながら日本からのアクセスでは視聴できないのですが（確か･･･）、我々にはゴルフネットワークがありますから。今日、いや厳密に言うと明日から、午前3時から衛星生中継が始まるようです。
3時？･･･無理無理無理。
でも初日以外はフル観戦しようと思っておる。
全米プロ選手権公式HP上での中継は、初日と2日目は主にタイガー・ウッズ、パドレイグ・ハリントン、リッチ・ビーム（最後にヘーゼルティン・ナショナルで開催された全米プロ覇者）の組を追いかけるそうです。
そして同じくHP上では、予選ラウンドでタイガーが回っていない時（初日の午後、2日目の午前）に「どの組を中継で見たいですか？」というアンケートを取っているのです。

これはある意味ビックリです・・・。

という奇妙な人気指数の方程式ができてしまっています。相変わらず人気のない2009年メジャーチャンピオンたち。ミケルソンは家族の不幸から復帰し、「頑張って欲しい」というファンの心情的なものもきっと反映されているのでしょう。
そして2日目に見たい組の結果がこちら。
なんと、アンソニー・キム、石川遼、アダム・スコットの組が40％以上の支持を得ているようです。それもビジェイ・シン、アーニー・エルス、今季絶好調のスティーブ・ストリッカーなどを押さえて！
もちろん、スコットもキムもアメリカツアーでは人気のある選手だけに、この数字が石川一人の人気指数ではないにしろ、アメリカのメディアでも徐々に取り上げられるようになり、注目すべき選手として挙げられていることは確か。タイガーと全英で回った実績（そして、タイガーより良いスコアで回った事実）が一つの指標にもなっているのかもしれませんね。
石川はやはりアメリカでも人気急上昇中なのか、それとも今回の数字は日本からのファンがクリックしてるだけのか･･･
