先週のマスターズのテレビ視聴率が発表され、アメリカ本土の中継をしていたCBSは昨年より微減だったとか。その反面、TBSは「過去最高」の数字を記録したみたいで、日米のマスターズ視聴率は対照的な結果だったみたいです。

CBSは大会期間中の平均視聴率が8.3％と昨年の8.6を下回ったとか。特に最終日の日曜日は「復活際（Easter Sunday）」と重なってしまい、テレビの視聴者が減ったことが視聴率に響いたとのこと。
TBSは3日目の9.2％を筆頭に4日間を通して8.4％を記録し、1967年にマスターズ中継を開始して以来、過去最高の平均視聴率を記録したそうです。おめでとうございます。
早朝だったことを考えるとかなり爆発的な数字・・・ですよね。面白いのはマスターズ2日目、偶然にも「TBSのすべての番組の視聴率が２ケタを切って１ケタ台に」という２ちゃんねるのニュースが大盛況を見せていたのですが、マスターズのおかげで多少は汚名返上となったのでしょうかね。
ちなみに、CBSの中継で瞬間最高視聴率を記録したのはプレーオフに突入した時で10.0％、TBSは片山晋呉が2日目の18番でセカンドを打った直後の午前7:30で14.6%、とこちらもアメリカ越え！
ちなみにちなみに、石川遼が出場した予選ラウンドの2日間はそれぞれ7.6、8.1%の高数字だったそうです。こう見るとやはり片山の活躍が視聴率に直結したんですね･･･。
でも「選手の活躍」ありきのビジネスモデルってかなり危険ですよね。というのは、CBSは今年視聴率は下がったものの視聴者数は4,200万世帯で、これはタイガー・ウッズが優勝した2001年に次いで2番目に多い視聴者数だったそうです。タイガーが優勝しなくても（カブレラが優勝者でも）数字が取れる・・・日本人が優勝争いに絡まなくてもマスターズを見たい人が増えるというのが理想的ですよね（当たり前ですけど）。
異例の高視聴率を記録したTBS。視聴率低迷で今後の存続が危ぶまれていただけに、少しは肩の荷が降りたのではないでしょうかw
