ビックリしました。YouTubeでマスターズ関連動画を検索していたらとんでもないのが出てきちゃいました。そして、ネット界でもアルファブロガーなどがこぞって取り上げていてちょっとした話題になっています。
マスターズ最終日ラウンド後、セルヒオ・ガルシアがゴルフ・チャンネルのインタビューに答えていたようです。

まず、僕がインタビュアーだったら、こう聞いていたかな・・・。「優勝した選手が12アンダー、34名がアンダーパーで回っていてもフェアじゃないと思う理由は」って。
にしても、とんでもない発言ですね。オーガスタの歴史、ゴルフの歴史の一ページを築いてきたコースに（正に）泥を塗るような発言は控えるべきだったと思う。どれだけ悪いスコアであがってきて機嫌が悪くても、ゴルフ人のマナーとして許しがたい行為です。
特定の大会やゴルフ場を「好き」である必要はないわけで、「俺のスタイルには合わないコース。なぜならパッティングが下手すぎるから」とか軽い冗談を入れて適当に濁せばよかったのに...。先日、敗者ケニー・ペリーの堂々たる記者会見の全貌を綴りましたが、同じPGAツアーのトッププロとは思えない言葉。若い頃にプロ転向して、ちやほやされて育ってきたガルシア（あれ、日本にもいますね...）の発言を見るとちゃんとした教育を受けられなかったのかな～と思ってしまいます。逆にこれから出てくる10代の若手がガルシアのような振る舞い方を真似しないか心配になります。ガルシアさんよ、プロゴルファーとして世に影響力のある人間である以上、少しはペリー教授のお膝元で弟子入りさせてもらった方がいいかもしれないですね。
