その大会の速報です（日本時間13日12時現在）！上田桃子が単独4位でホールアウト、LPGAメンバーとしてのデビュー戦となるミッシェル・ウィは3アンダー、5位タイにつけている。首位はアンジェラ・スタンフォードの7アンダー、2位はヤニ・ツェンが6アンダーでつけている。
上田桃子が絶好のスタート切った。インスタートとなった上田は12番でボギーとするものの、その13、16、17番でバーディを奪い2アンダーでハーフを迎え、後半は1イーグル、2バーディ、2ボギーとして初日を「68」で回った。一時は5アンダーで3位タイにいただけに、6、7番での連続ボギーが痛かった...。
ウィは前半で3アンダーとして、後半も14番を終えて1バーディ、1ボギーと初日から上位に顔を出している。最近の米国女子ゴルフ界はあまり明るい話題がない。ウィがここらで活躍してくれると再びLPGA人気が沸き起こるだろう。
また、プロデビューとなった宮里美香は2アンダーの11位タイ（暫定）、宮里藍は1オーバー（17番終了時点）、大山志保は1アンダー（14番終了時点）となっている。
その他ではベテランのジュリー・インクスターが3アンダー、ポーラ・クリーマーが2アンダー、モーガン・プレッセルと今年ウィと共にルーキーイヤーを迎えるステイシー・ルイスがイーブンとなっている。
